Fountain

This is one of my favorite fountains in Salem. This freestanding sculpture is located outside of the Capital Building in the Capital Mall Park. I find this piece to show movement when the water is cascading down the metal into the small pond below. When the water is not flowing this piece shows symmetrical balance by the rounding lines and the round base. It also has distinct form, and an abstract shape that adds to the beauty of it. The metal adds a cold balance to the warmth of the water image below. I find that in the way this piece almost frames the trees and buildings in the background adds a almost collage appeal to it.

Construction Stainless Steal.
